HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Mars Hill baseball team (7-10) fell to Lincoln Memorial (8-7) by a score of 13-4 on Tuesday night.
In the top half of the third inning, Tyler Lala singled to left field, scoring Scottie Lee to give the Lions an early lead. Lincoln Memorial would respond by scoring two runs in the bottom half of the inning.
In the bottom of the fifth, Lincoln Memorial's Sam Mast launched a three-run home run over the left field wall to bring their lead to three. Mast would later hit a second home run in the bottom of the sixth, also scoring three runs.
The Lions would go on to plate two more in the top half of the eighth inning, but were unable to rally from behind late in the game.
Tristan Camp started on the hill for the Lions, throwing two innings and striking out three. Lincoln Memorial reliever Ethan Bobo threw 3.1 innings, allowing a single run, and was awarded the win.
The Lions are at home this weekend for a three-game SAC series against UVA Wise. First pitch is set for Friday, March 4 at 2 p.m.
