Randolph, Millsaps highlight Blue and Gold Game

MARS HILL, N.C. - Jonas Randolph rushed for 87 yards on 12 carries, while Trenton Millsaps had 61 yards on 14 rushes to highlight the Mars Hill Blue and Gold Game at the Ammons Family Athletic Center and Meares Stadium.

On the second possession of the game, Randolph broke a 40-yard gain before being wrestled out-of-bounds. Jon Richt completed 6-of-9 passes for 94 yards, including a 45-yard pass to Akeem Ferguson on the third play of the game, and rushed once for seven yards. Ferguson ended the night with 90 yards on five catches.

Luis Cruz was 1-of-8 passing for 13 yards and rushed four times for two yards. Joe Hoilman was 1-of-3 for 10 yards.

Joshua Young caught one pass for 13 yards. Donald Gladden hauled in one pass for 10 yards. Randolph recorded one grab for four yards.

Kevin Johnson and Michael Robinson each had five tackles and one tackle-for-loss to lead the defense. Johnson also had a sack. Mam Nyang and Troy Harris each added four tackles.

Mars Hill opens the 2011 season on September 3 at home against the University of Charleston.
