Randolph named to 2012 BSN Showcase watch list
LEESBURG, Va. - Mars Hill tailback Jonas Randolph has been named to the 2012 Beyond Sports Network Collegiate Showcase watch list. The "BSN Collegiate Showcase" which will take place March 9th - 11th, 2012, inside the Stile Athletic Field House on the campus of the University of Akron, in Akron OH.
The Planning for this event began several months ago with negotiations between the executive staff of BSN and The University of Akron, with the goal of bringing a unique event to football athletes from the FCS, D-II, D-III, and NAIA branches of college football.
"We are excited to showcase the best athletes from the various levels of college football to the professional football leagues. Providing an event like ours will offer the best athletes from every level a chance to have a comparable experience that I received when I competed in the Hula Bowl and The NFL Combine," said BSN CEO Jimmy Kibble, "We look forward to the 2011 college football season to scout and learn which athletes will be invited to compete in the 2012 BSN Collegiate Showcase!"
BSN provides the premier network and outlet to showcase an athlete's career, with their achievements, bios, stats, and film, all in one place. Pro coaches, scouts, and front office personnel will have much quicker access to a player through the Beyond Sports College Network, thanks to the unique social networking technology used to create the BSN portal. The Beyond Sports College Network is for all student athletes, students, and college staff.
"The event will basically be a combination of the testing that takes place at the NFL Combine, practice sessions similar to the Senior Bowl, and an all star game experience with each player receiving more repetitions at their position." BSN COO Dan Evans explained, "There are many types of workouts, combines, and all star games that athletes can attend, but often times one aspect of an athletes skills are neglected. We are excited to give each athlete the opportunity to display the all around football skills they possess to pro coaches and executives, by providing a unique and once in a lifetime opportunity."
To date, the BSN Portal has allowed numerous players at the college level to achieve their goal of continuing their playing career at the NFL, CFL, UFL, AFL, and other indoor league levels. The "collegiate showcase weekend" will spotlight over 200 of the best football players nationwide from the FCS & other levels of college football whom otherwise would not get to display their skills for professional scouts, coaches, and other pro personnel.
