Hawks Named SAC Defensive Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Senior linebacker Ricky Hawks has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, league officials announced this morning.

Hawks collects his first weekly honor after contributing 12 tackles and one tackle for loss in Mars Hill's 28-21 overtime win over Shorter on Sept. 10.  Seven of his tackles were solo efforts as he added one pass break-up and a pair of quarterback hurries.  His two hurries came on Shorter's final possession of the contest. 

The Lions will be back in action on Saturday, September 17 as they travel to Gaffney, S.C. to take on Limestone College.
