Jake Sell earns Academic All-District Super Region II honors
Mars Hill University football player Jake Sell earned 2017 Academic All-District™ Super Region II honors, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday morning. The selection is Sell's first of his career.
AUSTIN, Texas - Mars Hill University football player Jake Sell earned 2017 Academic All-District™ Super Region II honors, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday morning. The selection is Sell's first of his career.
Sell, an offensive lineman for the Mars Hill football team, holds a 3.41 GPA studying physical education. The junior from Greeneville, Tennessee appeared in nine games for the Lions this season and 24 over his first three season.
Sell moved to center after three games in the 2017 season and excelled, demonstrating leadership with his fellow linemates. He graded out, overall, an 85 percent with 87 percent pass protection and 83 percent run blocking.
A student-athlete can be nominated for Academic All-America® honors with a cumulative 3.30 or above grade point average while also being a starter or significant reserve for his or her team. The student-athlete must be at least a sophomore to be considered.
