Mars Hill announces 2019 recruiting class
The Mars Hill football team added 42 players to their 2019 roster after Wednesday's National Signing Day.
MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill football team added 42 players to their 2019 roster after Wednesday's National Signing Day.
The Lions, offensively, added seven offensive linemen, five running backs, two wide receivers, a quarterback, a fullback/long snapper and an athlete. On the defensive end, Mars Hill added 10 linebackers, six defensive linemen, six defensive backs, a defensive back/linebacker and defensive lineman/long snapper.
Mars Hill added 13 players from the state of North Carolina and nine from Georiga. Rounding out their state breakdown, the Lions signed six players from Florida, three from South Carolina, and one apiece from Louisiana, Colorado, and Hawaii.
"We had several needs that we needed to take care of and I thought we did a great job of addressing those needs," head coach Tim Clifton said about the class. "I thought it was as a good a year as we've had recruiting. I thought our coaches did a great job recruiting and brought in a lot of very talented players."
