Mars Hill falls to No. 11 LMU
The Mars Hill men’s basketball team (4-6, 4-3 SAC) was defeated by a score of 101-70 versus No. 11 ranked Lincoln Memorial (8-1, 5-1 SAC) Saturday afternoon.
MARS HILL, N.C. – The Mars Hill men's basketball team (4-6, 4-3 SAC) was defeated by a score of 101-70 versus No. 11 ranked Lincoln Memorial (8-1, 5-1 SAC) Saturday afternoon.
The Railsplitters shot over 53 percent from the floor in the first half, draining eight of 19 three-pointers in the first 20 minutes of play. Three players, led by Jordan Guest's 12, recorded double-digit points while Guest led all Railsplitters with six rebounds.
The Lions were led by Jay Hickman's 11 points, hitting three of his five three-point attempts. Isayah Johnson led all players with eight rebounds while Kadyn Dawkins added nine points followed by Michael Houge's eight.
Lincoln Memorial continued the hot shooting in the second half, hitting 48 percent of their shots and an additional six three-pointers. Chase Rankin controlled the action, picking up an additional five assists and ending the contest with a double-double (20 points, 13 assists).
On the day, the Railsplitters shot over 51 percent to the Lions' 40 percent.
