Dawkins named SAC Freshman of the Year
Mars Hill's Kadyn Dawkins was named the 2022 South Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Freshman of the Year as released by the league Thursday morning.
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Mars Hill's Kadyn Dawkins was named the 2022 South Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Freshman of the Year as released by the league Thursday morning.
Dawkins, a native of Greensboro, North Carolina, was the leading scorer for the Lions this season averaging 13.9 points per game. He also hauled in 2.6 rebounds per game with 2.5 assists per game. He finished the season ranked in the top-20 in the league in scoring, field goal percentage, and free throw percentage.
He posted seven games with 20+ points, including two 29-point outings (Nov. 27 at Catawba, Jan. 19 at Anderson). On the road versus Lenoir-Rhyne late in the season, Dawkins collected a double-double with 13 points and a career-high 10 assists.
