PINEHURST, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's golf team is tied for tenth place after the first round of the 14th Annual J. Ralph Hargett Intercollegiate tournament held at National Golf Club.
Adam Lumley led Mars Hill with a 5-over-par 77 and is tied for 20th place. As a team, Mars Hill shot an opening round 321. Wingate's Benedict Gebhartd is the individual leader with a 1-under 71, while Queens University leads with a first day 300.
Twelve teams and 68 total players took part in the first day of competition. The tournament was originally scheduled to be a 54-hole tournament, but has been shortened to 36-hole and will conclude tomorrow.
