Men Finish Ninth at Anderson Invitational: Lumley Earns All-Tournament
ANDERSON, S.C. – The Lions men’s golf team finished the 2016 Anderson University Invitational in ninth place on Tuesday, September 13 at Cobb’s Glen Country Club.

ANDERSON, S.C. – The Lions men's golf team finished the 2016 Anderson University Invitational in ninth place on Tuesday, September 13 at Cobb's Glen Country Club. Adam Lumley continued to pace Mars Hill in the early season, earning a spot on the All-Tournament team with an overall third-place finish.
Lumley followed-up his first round 72 with a final round 75 (+3) to earn the accolade. Harry Butler made the biggest push for the Lions, shooting a 76 (+4) during the finale, shaving five strokes off his day one score. The score improvement landed him in a tie for 25th overall.
Stephen Thomasson and Luke Challis both shot an 87 (+15), while Levi Neeson entered the clubhouse with an 89 (+17). Catawba won the team overall, besting Southern Wesleyan by four strokes. The Indians Mack Shephard took home the individual honors after finishing even-par through the 36-hole tournament.
The men will be back in action on Monday, September 19 as they travel to the Etowah Valley Golf Course to take part in the Brevard College Fall Invitational.
