Lions Finish Eighth at SAC Championships

SALISBURY, N.C. - The Mars Hill men’s golf team wrapped up the 2017 South Atlantic Men’s Golf Championships with an 8th place finish on Tuesday afternoon at the Salisbury Country Club.

SALISBURY, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's golf team wrapped up the 2017 South Atlantic Men's Golf Championships with an 8^th place finish on Tuesday afternoon at the Salisbury Country Club.

Luke Challis was the top finisher for the Lions, turning in an impressive 12^th place finish after firing a second round 32 (-3), while Adam Lumley finished one stroke behind him with a 27-hole total of 110 (+4), good enough for a top-15 finish.

Stephen Thomasson knocked off six strokes from his day one total and collected a 40^th place finish after scoring a total of 114 (+8) during the rain-shortened event. Harry Butler and Callum Ritchie each posted 119s (+13) to tie for 54^th position.

As a team the Lions shot a 27-hole total of 448 (+24). Carson-Newman took home the team honors with a 431 (+7), while Coker's Wanjoo Lee earned the individual award with two-under 104.
