Lions Ink South Aiken's Morrison

MARS HILL, N.C. – Head golf coach David Pennell has announced the signing of Hunter Morrison for the upcoming season. Morrison, a senior at South Aiken High School, put pen to paper on April 17, 2017 to make it official and become the newest member of the Lions men's golf team.

The Lions will graduate just one senior from this year's team so Morrison will have a chance to come in and make an impact right away. While at South Aiken, Morrison finished third last year at the Thoroughbred Invitational and was fourth this year against a stronger field. He's won four South Carolina Junior Golf Association tournaments, and he competed in some big tournaments over the summer like the South Carolina Golf Association Junior Championship and the Grant Bennett Florence Junior Invitational.

"It was really cool," Morrison said. "It's like a sense of relief, because you spend so much time searching and talking to coaches and visiting, and then everything's up in the air and you don't really know what's going to happen. Then, to finally make it official, a lot is lifted off your shoulders."
