HARDEEVILLE, S.C. - The Mars Hill men's golf team began the defense of their Pfeiffer Invitational title in seventh place Monday afternoon.

Nicholas Boone led all Lions' players, placing 17th, shooting seven over on the day.  Hayden Estes finished one stroke behind for a 24th place finish on the day.

Both Will Byrd and Jose Moreno shot nine over, tied for 27th position while Christian Ethier shot 10 over for a 33rd placement.

The Lions sit in seventh place, posting a total score of 321 after the first round of play.  The Pfeiffer Invitational concludes on Tuesday, March 4.
