Former Lions Drafted into NLL
MARS HILL, N.C.-- Two former Mars Hill lacrosse players were drafted into the National Lacrosse League Monday night.
T.J. Cowx and Chris Cudmore were each drafted by NLL organizations. Cowx was drafted with the first pick in the fourth round (30th overall) by the Washington Stealth. Chris Cudmore was drafted in the fifth round (51st overall) by the Minnesota Storm.
Cowx was the 2012 Deep South Conference Player of the Year. He finished his career at Mars Hill with 71 goals and 60 assists for a total of 131 points. His 60 assists rank third in program history.
Cudmore was a three-time All-American while at Mars Hill. He started a program-best 51 games in his four years as a Lion. Cudmore finished his Mars Hill career with nine goals and 22 assists along with 228 ground balls and 114 caused turnovers, most in school history.
