McMahon Named SAC Defensive Player of the Week

Mars Hill senior goalkeeper Patrick McMahon has been named the South Atlantic Conference Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week, league officials announced Monday.

ROCK HILL, S.C. - Mars Hill senior goalkeeper Patrick McMahon has been named the South Atlantic Conference Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week, league officials announced Monday. McMahon takes home Defensive Player of the Week honors for the first time in his Mars Hill career.

McMahon tied a season-high with 15 saves on Sunday in Mars Hill's 14-8 victory over Catawba. The Buffalo, N.Y. native stopped 65.2 percent of Catawba's shots-on-goal and also recorded three ground balls. McMahon is tied for fifth place in the conference with 71 saves.

Mars Hill returns to action on Wednesday, hosting Brevard at 4 p.m. The Lions travel to Hilton Head, S.C. on Sunday to take on Florida Southern.
