Sage Named to Academic All-District At-Large Team
Junior midfielder Ryan Sage has been named to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-District III men’s at-large team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
MARS HILL, N.C. – Junior lacrosse midfielder Ryan Sage has been named to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-District III men's at-large team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). As a first team selection, Sage moves on to the national ballot for the Capital One Academic All-America at-large team.
Sage, a Biology major from Kelowna, British Columbia with a 3.98 GPA, was named to the All-SAC Men's Lacrosse Second Team after scoring 42 goals with 50 points, putting him in the top five in the league in both categories. On April 14 against Coker, Sage scored a season-high six goals as part of a 17-7 victory that clinched a spot in the Food Lion SAC Championships.
Student-athletes selected for Academic All-District honors must be a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletic credentials. They must possess at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.00 scale). They must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing and must have completed at least one full academic year at his or her institution. The Capital One Academic All-America NCAA Division II at-large teams will be announced on Wednesday, June 4.
