Kearney Earns Player of the Week Honors
ROCK HILL, S.C. – Sophomore goalkeeper Ryan Kearney has been tabbed the Astroturf South Atlantic Conference Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for games played April 4-10 as announced by the league today.
ROCK HILL, S.C. – Sophomore goalkeeper Ryan Kearney has been tabbed the Astroturf South Atlantic Conference Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for games played April 4-10 as announced by the league today.
Kearney recorded 28 saves to lead the Lions to a pair of pivotal South Atlantic Conference wins last week. He got his week started with 10 saves as Mars Hill defeated Brevard 8-6 on April 6. Three days later at Lincoln Memorial, Kearney came away with 18 saves in a 7-6 win over the Railsplitters. Kearney saved 70 percent of the shots he faced in the two-game span. The honor is his first Defensive Player of the Week plaudit this season.
The Lions will look to improve on their season-high, three game winning streak as they take to the field on Wednesday, April 13, traveling to take on the Tusculum Pioneers. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start.
