MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's lacrosse team (1-2) was defeated by Young Harris (2-1) by a score of 13-10 Wednesday afternoon.
Young Harris ended the first quarter up 4-1 with four different goal scorers.
In the second and third quarters, respectively, the Lions outscored Young Harris 4-3 in each frame. In the second, Cole Ross netted two goals for Mars Hill. Ross capped off his hat-trick in the third. George Yanssens scored his second of the contest in the third while the Lions added goals from Braden Hoskyn and Brandon Woodward.
Young Harris held the Lions to just one goal in the final 15 minutes of play, holding on for the 13-10 win.
Ross led the Lions with three goals followed by two from Yanssens. Austin Stroud collected two assists.
Steven Smith made 12 saves on the day.
Mars Hill hosts Barton on Saturday, February 17 at 3 p.m.
