MARS HILL, N.C. – The Mars Hill men's lacrosse team (3-7, 1-4 SAC) was defeated by No. 2 Lenoir-Rhyne (9-1, 4-1 SAC) by a score of 25-5 Wednesday evening.
The Bears held Mars Hill scoreless in the first quarter, heading into the second up 4-0. They tallied nine more goals before the half, leading 13-1 after 30 minutes of play. Josh McCallion scored the lone goal in the first half for Mars Hill.
The Lions were once again held scoreless in the third, surrendering seven goals. In the final 15 minutes of play, Ben Hokenson scored three goals for the hat-trick while Brandon Woodward scored the Lions' fourth of the frame.
Hokenson and Morgan Madish led all players with three points, both recording hat-tricks.
Mars Hill takes to the road on Saturday, March 30 when they face Shorter in non-conference play. Faceoff is set for 1 p.m.
