Lions Ranked Fourth in Region
MARS HILL, N.C.-- The Mars Hill men's soccer team is ranked fourth in the Southeast Region in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division II Poll, which was released Tuesday.
The Lions climbed two spots from last week, which saw the team ranked sixth in the Southeast Region. Mars Hill defeated Lees-McRae 1-0 and opened South Atlantic Conference play with a 2-1 victory over Lincoln Memorial last week. Mars Hill is receiving Top 25 votes in the NSCAA poll, but is not officially ranked nationally. The NSCAA poll is the official poll of NCAA Men's Soccer.
A stingy defense has helped Mars Hill ranks 23rd in the nation in goals-against average. Lion goalkeeper Zac Scott ranks seventh in the nation with an .889 save percentage.
