MARS HILL, N.C.-- Mars Hill's men's soccer team fell to Anderson 1-0 Saturday afternoon in South Atlantic Conference action in Meares Stadium.
Andre Carle scored with 22 minutes left in the second half to provide the final margin. Each team had five shots on goal. Bo Haug earned the shutout in net for the Trojans. Mars Hill falls to 2-5 overall and 2-2 in SAC matches. Anderson is now 5-2-1 overall and 2-2 in conference play.
Neither team was able to break through in the opening half. AU held a 3-1 advantage in shots in the first half.
Carle scored off a one-on-one steal at the 67:51mark. The goal was Carle's sixth of the season.
Chris Mitchell made two saves in net for Mars Hill.
The Lions will take on Wingate next Friday, Oct. 4 at 7:30 p.m. in Meares Stadium.
