CHARLOTTE, N.C.-- Mars Hill's men's soccer team fell to #19 Queens, 2-0 Saturday afternoon at the Queens Sports Complex.
Yannick Fischbach scored the game-winner and notched an assist to lead the Royals to the victory. Thiago Andrade added a goal. Montrell Morgan made five saves to earn the shutout and improve to 11-0 on the season. Mars Hill falls to 4-8 overall and 4-4 in SAC matches. Queens improves to 11-1 overall and 8-0 in conference matches. The Royals have won 11-straight matches.
Fischbach got the Royals on the board 40:26 into the contest on a shot from the top of the box. Erick Suarez and Ryan Kawczysnki picked up assists on the tally.
Andrade added an insurance goal in the 69th-minute, taking a pass from Fischbach that was served over the back line and making a one-on-one move.
Chris Mitchell made four saves in goal for the Lions. Queens held a 12-10 advantage in shots and a 6-4 advantage in corner kicks.
Mars Hill returns home to face Carson-Newman on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 7:30 p.m.
