GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's soccer team (3-1-0) earned their second double overtime win of the year over Mount Olive (2-1-1) with Jimmy Char's game-winning goal.
With 7:40 remaining in the contest, Char drove past a defender and tucked the ball underneath a sprawling Austin Porter to give the Lions the 2-1 win. The goal was Char's first of his collegiate career.
Brian Salzman once again played a large part in the Lions win, making five saves including two in the overtime frames to pick up his third win of the season.
The Trojans struck first just 1:48 into the contest when MacLayne Gairrett headed home his first off the year off of a corner kick from Baptiste Tajan.
Mars Hill answered back and tied the game up with a Sebastian Bertilsson marker in the 26th minute. The goal, assisted on by Matthew Jackson, was Bertilsson's third goal of the year and extended his goal scoring streak to three straight games.
