HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Mars Hill men's soccer team (5-5-0, 2-4-0 SAC) were defeated by a score of 6-1 to Coker (3-5-0, 1-3-0 SAC) Saturday afternoon.
Beginning the second half tied at one apiece, the Cobra offense reeled off five unanswered goals to runaway with the decision.
Christian Provenzano opened the scoring just 1:31 into the match, finishing off a penalty kick opportunity for his fourth of the year. He would go on to score his second of the game just under 10 minutes into the second half for the game-winning goal.
Bertilsson tied the game at one 16 minutes after Provenzano's first tally for his fifth of the year, slamming home a rebound off of a corner kick opportunity.
Coker added goals from Matt Trimby (1), Kasper Wallstroem (2), Lucas Miguel Castril (1) and Jacob Simonis (3) to make up their six goals.
Zach Watson made six saves in the win, while Brian Salzman had two in the contest.
The Lions return to the Ammons Family Athletic Center and Meares Stadium on Wednesday, October 10th to take on Newberry. The contest is set for a 7:30 p.m. start.
