MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's soccer team (3-8-1, 0-6 SAC) was shutout by Carson-Newman (9-2-1, 5-1-1 SAC) by a score of 3-0 Wednesday night.
The Eagles struck late in the first half to enter the final 45 minutes up 1-0. Evan Harr chipped the ball over the shoulder of Brennan Whalen to net his first of the year in the 42nd minute.
Two goals in the span of 2:38 in the second half tripled the Carson-Newman lead as Will Sainsbury-Logan and Nic Carsh netted their third and fourth goals, respectively, on the season.
A late rush by the Lions was their best opportunity of the night, however, the attempted shot went wide of the cage.
Mars Hill takes to the road on Saturday, October 19th when they take on Newberry at 5 p.m.
