MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's soccer team (4-11-1, 0-9 SAC) was defeated at the hands of Tusculum (5-7-2, 5-3-1 SAC) Friday evening by a score of 2-0 in the 2019 home finale.
The Pioneers scored their first goal in the 11th minute as Edgar Cervantes netted his fourth of the season. The Lions pushed back all throughout the first half, but two saves from Sam Gilbert kept them off the scoreboard.
Late in the frame, Nikola Vujicic slid home his seventh of the season to double the Pioneers' lead.
Prior to the start of the contest, River Naisang, Justin Eigel, Joakim Lien, Adnan Saltagic, and Jordan Lennon were recognized and honored for their contributions to the Mars Hill men's soccer program.
The Lions close out the 2019 season on the road versus Lincoln Memorial on Wednesday, November 6. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
