WINGATE, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's soccer team (9-5-3, 5-4-2 SAC) drew with Wingate (6-7-2, 4-5-2 SAC) Wednesday night by a score of 0-0.
The Lions outshot the Bulldogs 11-8 in the first half and 20-16 throughout the contest. They outshot Wingate 3-2 in the overtime periods.
Sebastian Bertilsson led all players with six shots while Soren Nygaard led Wingate with four shot attempts, three on target. Niclas Wittur also added four shot attempts. Peter Plougmand, Dan Roth, and Jake White attempted three shots.
Jens Bergendorff stopped six shots while Brennan Whalen made five saves.
The Lions finished the season with 17 points in the South Atlantic Conference, ending the regular season in sixth place. Mars Hill will take on Lenoir-Rhyne on the road Saturday in SAC Quarterfinal action.
