ANDERSON, S.C - The Mars Hill men's soccer team (4-1-1, 1-1-0 SAC) was defeated by Anderson (3-1-1, 2-0 SAC) by a score of 2-1 Saturday night on the road.
Anderson took an early lead with Eloy Allimadi scoring his first of the season in the 10th minute.
Mars Hill responded in the 56th minute through Peter Plougmand, assisted by Adrian Faus. The goal marked Plougmand's eighth of the season.
Anderson quickly responded with a goal from Juan Pablo Lepervanche, his third of the year, in the 59th minute, proving to be the game-winning strike.
Faus led all players with four shot attempts followed by three from Plougmand. Lukas Boss led the Trojans with three shots.
Mars Hill will shift their focus to facing Emory & Henry on Saturday, September 28 for their Alumni Day game. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. inside Meares Stadium.
