Lions Sweep Dual Meet at Milligan

MILLIGAN, TENN- The Mars Hill men's swimming team swept a double dual meet over Union College and Milligan College on Friday afternoon. The Lions defeated Union 111-89 and Milligan 163-25.
The 200 Medley Relay team of Kendall Corbett, Brady Rothschild, Ludovico Corsini and Ryan Martin won the opening event in 1:50.99. David Hallberg led a sweep of the podium for the Lions in the 200 Meter Individual Medley, crossing the line in 2:19.34. Hallberg was followed by Rothschild (2:19.97) and Brett Malmstrom (2:22.86). Hallberg also claimed the 100 Meter Butterfly in 1:01.82 with Shane Whicker finishing in second place with a mark of 1:02.87. Corsini also led a sweep of the podium by the Lions, claiming the 100 Meter Breaststroke in 1:05.75. He was followed by Rothschild and Brian Davis. Mars Hill also won the final relay of the day as Martin, Zach Muehl, Justin Gale and Trey Mason finished in 3:46.85.
Martin finished in second place in the 100 Meter Freestyle (55.54), with Corbett claiming a runner- up result in the 100 Meter Backstroke (1:05.25). Whicker was the second place finisher in the 50 Meter Freestyle (25.17). The Lions continue their season next week at the Sewanee Invitational, hosted by the University of the South.
