Lions Finish in Second Place at Sewanee Invitational
The Mars Hill men’s swimming team finished in second place at the Sewanee Invitational with three swimmers picking up individual wins on Saturday.
SEWANEE, TENN.- The Mars Hill men's swimming team finished in second place at the Sewanee Invitational with three swimmers picking up individual wins on Saturday. The Lions completed the event with 868 points.
Ludovico Corsini claimed the 100 Yard Breaststroke in 58.87 seconds. Trey Mason was the winner in the 200 Yard Freestyle, crossing the finish line in 1:50.94. Brady Rothschild won the 200 Yard Breaststroke in 2:11.40.
The Lions had solid performances in relays. The 200 Yard Freestyle team of Mason, Justin Gale, Ryan Martin and Shane Whicker finished in second place with a mark of 1:31.11. The quartet of Kendall Corbett, Corsini, Rothschild and Martin finished third in the 200 Yard Medley Relay in 1:39.77
Other top three finishers for the Lions were Brett Malmstrom in second place in the 500 Yard Free (5:00.77) with David Hallberg following in third place (5:02.61). Malmstrom was the third place finisher in the 200 Yard Butterfly (2:03.77). Martin finished in third place in the 100 Yard Freestyle (50.25), with Corbett earning a third place finish in the 200 Yard Backstroke (2:08.88). Rothschild was the third place finisher in the 200 Yard Individual Medley (2:05.45).
Mars Hill welcomes West Virginia Tech to Harrell Pool next Saturday.
