Three Lions Receive ASC Academic All-Conference Honors
Senior Justin Gale along with juniors Trey Mason and Zach Naelitz were named to the Appalachian Swimming Conference Academic All-Conference team
MARS HILL, N.C. – Senior Justin Gale along with juniors Trey Mason and Zach Naelitz were named to the Appalachian Swimming Conference Academic All-Conference team, the league recently announced. Gale is a member of the team for the second straight year, while Mason and Naelitz are first time honorees.
In order to be eligible for the Academic All-Conference team, a student-athlete must have a 3.5 or greater GPA and be a junior or senior.
Gale is an Athletic Training major with a 3.70 GPA. He was part of the 800 Freestyle Relay team that set a new school record time of 7:05.76 at the conference meet last month. On Senior Day against King, Gale was the winner of the 200 and 500 Yard Freestyles and swam a leg on the winning 200 Medley and 400 Freestyle Relay teams. 
Mason, a Mathematics major, has a 3.71 GPA. Mason was also part of the school record 800 Freestyle Relay team.
Naelitz is majoring in Athletic Training and has a 3.68 GPA.
Mars Hill finished in fifth place at the Appalachian Swimming Conference championship meet.
