Mars Hill defeats King, Emory and Henry in first meet of 2019
The Mars Hill men's swim team earned wins over King and Emory and Henry College Friday evening by scores of 111-78 and 137-44, respectively.
BRISTOL, Tenn. - The Mars Hill men's swim team earned wins over King and Emory and Henry College Friday evening by scores of 111-78 and 137-44, respectively.
Erwin Ortiz picked up victories in the 100 and 200 yard butterfly races. In the 100, Ortiz set a time of 52.98 and in the 200, recorded a time of 1:50.72.
In the 1000 yard freestyle, Matt Kowalczyk swam a time of 10:57.67 for the win. In the 50 yard freestyle, Illya Buryak claimed the win with a time of 22.89.
Other individual winners included Brendon Cyprianos in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:00.19, Vitor Goncalves in the 100 yard freestyle who turned in a time of 48.78, and Harrison Butler in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 54.04.
The group of Buryak, Butler, Cyprianos, and Goncalves claimed victory in the 400 yard freestyle race, turning in a time of 3:20.43.

Mars Hill returns to the pool on Saturday, January 26th when they take on Milligan and Warren Wilson in Milligan, Tennessee. The meet is scheduled for 10 a.m.
