Lions sit in fifth after opening 2019 season at King Early Invite
The Mars Hill men's swim team ended the first day of the King Early Invite in fifth place to open their 2019 season Friday evening.
KINGSPORT, Tenn. - The Mars Hill men's swim team ended the first day of the King Early Invite in fifth place to open their 2019 season Friday evening.
Erwin Ortiz placed second in the 500 yard freestyle , turning in a time of 4:52.15. In the 200 yard IM, Bruno Ferrari finished sixth overall with a time of 2:01.95. Brendon Cyprianos and Alex Bouhlel placed ninth and 10th, respectively.
The team of Cyprianos, Ortiz, Gavriel Hason, and Matthew Goslin finished sixth in the 200 yard freestyle relay, recording a time of 1:32.22. Bouhlel, Goslin, Ortiz, and Matthew Kowalczyk placed fourth in the 800 yard freestyle relay with a time of 7:26.92.
The Lions ended the first day of competition with 116 points.
