Lions pick up split on Senior Day

MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's swim team defeated Warren Wilson, but fell to Lees-McRae on Senior Day Saturday afternoon.
The Lions defeated the Owls by a mark of 163-14, but dropped their matchup versus the Bobcats by a score of 140-81.
In the 4x50 yard medley relay, the team of Brendon Cyprianos, Alex Bouhlel, Gavriel Hason, and Matthew Goslin picked up the win, turning in a time of 1:40.07. Cyprianos earned the lone Lions' individual win with a time of 25.95 in the 50 yard backstroke.
Boulel and Goslin placed second and third, respectively, in the 50 yard breaststroke with times of 28.35 and 28.79. Goslin also placed second in the 50 yard freestyle, recording a time of 23.11. In the 50 yard butterfly, Hason finished second with a time of 24.95.
In the 100 yard freestyle, Erwin Ortiz placed second with a time of 49.11 while Cyprianos finished second in the 100 yard backstroke, posting a time of 55.04.

The Lions return to the pool on Saturday, January 11th when they head to Jefferson City, Tennessee and take on Carson-Newman at 1 p.m.
