Lions Defeat Milligan for First Win of Season

MILLIGAN, TENN.-- The Mars Hill men's tennis team defeated Milligan 6-3 to earn their fist victory of the season in non-conference action Monday afternoon at Milligan College.

The Lions took four singles matches and two double victories to earn the win. Lucas Simm, Euquerio Guerrero, Sam Lee and Joel Sturgis all won in straight sets in singles play for MHC. Colin Bumann and Caleb Friddell picked up singles wins for the Buffaloes. Mars Hill is now 1-2 on the season. Milligan is 1-4 overall.

Simm and Guerrero team up for an 8-6 victory in doubles play, while Sturgis and Zach High also earned an 8-3 victory. Jonsson and Jackson Lenoir picked up the Buffaloes lone win in doubles.

Mars Hill will open South Atlantic Conference play this Friday, Feb. 22 with 2:00 p.m. home match against Catawba.
