Tornado Too Much for Mars Hill

BRISTOL, TENN. - The Mars Hill men's tennis team lost 8-1 to King on Tuesday afternoon. With the loss, the Lions drop to 3-5 while King improves to 3-4.

Euquerio Guerrero was the lone winner on the afternoon for Mars Hill as he won number one singles 7-5, 6-1 over Pablo Vidal. Guerrero is now 7-1 on the season in the top singles spot. Mars Hill lost a pair of singles matches on tiebreakers. Joel Sturgis fell 6-2, 6-7 (4-7) 11-9 to Luis Delgado in number three singles. Blake Covington lost 6-2, 3-6, 10-6 in number five singles to William Boyce.

King swept the doubles matches as Rodrigo Avila and Leo Brigato defeated Guerrero and Sam Lee 8-5 in number one doubles. Delgado and Vidal topped Sturgis and Alberto Ortiz 8-6 in the second doubles flight, with Moritz Poswiat and Seth Carelli claiming an 8-4 win over Daniel Nelson and Covington.

Mars Hill hits the road this weekend, taking on Anderson on Saturday and Lenoir-Rhyne on Sunday.
