Anderson Defeats Men's Tennis

ANDERSON, S.C. - The Mars Hill men's tennis team lost 8-1 to Anderson on Saturday afternoon at Max Grubbs Memorial Courts. Anderson improves to 3-4 on the season and 3-1 in the South Atlantic Conference, while Mars Hill drops to 3-5 overall and 1-2 in league play.

Alberto Ortiz and Joel Sturgis teamed up for Mars Hill's lone win of the afternoon in number two doubles. Ortiz and Sturgis defeated Paul Michael Calhoun and Danilo Faria 8-6. Euquerio Guerrero had two tough losses on the day, falling in number one singles to Juan Carracedo in a tiebreaker, 3-6, 6-3, 10-8 and in number one doubles with Sam Lee to Carracedo and Mateo Rivas, 9-8, 7-5.

Mars Hill returns to the courts on Sunday, traveling to Lenoir-Rhyne.
