Riner Named to USTFCCCA All-Academic Team

NEW ORLEANS- Travis Riner has been named to the 2013-14 US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic team, officials announced on Tuesday.

Riner, a Physical Education major with a 3.39 grade point average, was the 2014 South Atlantic Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Year in his senior season. He was named to the USTFCCCA All-Region team and set school records in the shot put and discus with individual wins in both events at meets this past spring.

In order to be eligible for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, a student-athlete has to have a 3.25 cumulative grade point average and have reached a provisional or automatic qualifying standard in either indoor or outdoor seasons.
