Men's Track Kicks Off Outdoor Season at Brevard Relays

BREVARD, N.C.- The Mars Hill men's track team won nine races at the season-opening Brevard Relays on Saturday.

Dalton Henkel won the 100 meter dash in 12.18 seconds. Trevon Gee claimed victory in the 110 meter hurdles, finishing in 15.42. Malachi Young won the 400 meter dash in 50.64, with Marcus Foster taking home first place in the 400 meter hurdles (58.13). Nathan Jones won two races, claiming the mile with a time of 4:31.24 and the 800 meter run in 2:02.34. Jay Myers was the winner in the 200 meter dash as he broke the tape with a time of 22.25.

The Lions won three relays on the afternoon. In the 4 x 800 meter relay, Jonathan Spence, Nathan Wheeler, Garrett Farrimond and Dontonio Garrison crossed the line in 8:30.22. The 4 x 200 meter relay won with a time of 1:30.87. Myers, Gee, Foster and Malik Anderson won the 4 x 100 meters in 43.28.
