Lions Compete at Liberty Twilight Meet

LYNCHBURG, VA. – The Mars Hill men’s and women’s track team sent a handful of student-athletes to compete in the Liberty Twilight Meet on Wednesday afternoon.

LYNCHBURG, VA. – The Mars Hill men's and women's track team sent a handful of student-athletes to compete in the Liberty Twilight Meet on Wednesday afternoon.

Shanika Williams was the top performer for the Blue and Gold as she took home a fifth-place finish in the long jump event, posting a distance of 17' 3.5". The field consisted of 21 jumpers, including last year's Division II National Champion.

Spencer Shade cleared a height of 13' 1" in the pole vault, good enough for 12^th place overall, while Cameron France ran an 11.6 seconds in the 100 meter dash and 22.36 in the 200, finishing in 22^nd and 16^th places, respectively.

This meet concludes the spring portion of the 2017 schedule as the teams have already began to train for the upcoming fall season.
