Mars Hill finishes 15th at Catamount Classic
The Mars Hill men's track and field team placed 15th at the Catamount Classic after day two's conclusion on Saturday afternoon.
CULLOWHEE, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's track and field team placed 15th at the Catamount Classic after day two's conclusion on Saturday afternoon.
Cameron France placed 10th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.98. Finishing 23rd, Malik Frost posted a time of 11.44. France finished ninth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.05. Nicholas Izquierdo placed 11th, recording a time of 22.48. Frost finished 28th in the 200 meter dash.
In the 400 meter dash, David Elkins finished 20th, running a time of 51.20. Jared Stanley placed 32nd while Emmanuel McMillan finished 36th.
Noah Allison, in the 1500 meter run, finished ninth with a time of 4:07.15. Matthew Rogers and William Barbee finished 19th and 20th with times of 4:16.18 and 4:17.02, respectively. Ethan Murray placed 24th, while Garrett Farrimond, Nick Resor and Christopher Gomez placed 31st, 36th and 37th.
In the 5000 meter run, Skyler Cantrell recorded a time of 16:29.09 for a ninth place finish. James Benik finished 16th with a time of 16:38.94.
The quartet of Izquierdo, France, Elkins and Bryan Smith placed ninth in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 44.03. In the 4x400 meter relay, Izquierdo, Elkins, France and Murray finished third, recording a time of 3:29.57.
Spencer Shade finished third in the pole vault, recording a mark of 4.07m (13'4.25"). Smith, in the triple jump, posted a mark of 12.00m (39'4.50").
With a mark of 10.78m (35'4.50"), Tyler Holloway placed 30th overall in the shot put. He placed 21st in the discus throw with a distance of 31.02m (101'9"). Kenan Foxx finished 15th in the event recording a mark of 33.97m (111'5"). Tymothy Jones placed 18th.
