Lions Ranked Third in Southeast Region
MARS HILL, N.C.-- The Mars Hill men's cross country team is ranked third in the Southeast Region of the USTFCCCA NCAA Division II Rankings, which were released Tuesday.
Mars Hill is the 15-time reigning South Atlantic Conference champion, and finished fourth in the Southeast Regional last season. The Lions were voted as the preseason favorite to repeat as SAC champions by the league's coaches. MHC is led by preseason all-conference selections Brady Adcock, Eric Blackburn, and Josh Greenfield-Tuttle.
Three other South Atlantic Conference schools were ranked in the Southeast Region- Anderson (5th), Wingate (8th) and Lenoir-Rhyne (9th). Mount Olive and King (Tenn.) were ranked first and second respectively in the region.
The Lions open their season Friday at the Eye Opener event in Spartanburg, S.C.
