Lions place Third at Eye Opener

SPARTANBURG, S.C.-- The Mars Hill men's cross country team opened their season by placing third in the Eye Opener event.
The Lions placed first among Division II teams. Alex Griggs was Mars Hill's top finisher, placing 11th overall with a time of 27:14.25. Griggs turned in the top Division II time at the event. Cesar Reyes (16th), Eric Blackburn (22nd) and Brady Adcock (25th) also placed in the top 25 for MHC.
Mars Hill placed ahead of three Division I teams at the meet. Daniel Jezioranski (28th) rounded out the point-earners for the Lions.
The Lions will be in action again on Sept. 8, 2012 in a dual meet at Lenoir-Rhyne.
