Griggs Named SAC Runner of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C.-- For the second consecutive week, Mars Hill's Alex Griggs has been named the South Atlantic Conference Cross Country Runner of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.

Griggs was honored after finishing second overall at the Lenoir-Rhyne Invitational with a time of 26:41. The Statesville, N.C. native finished just three seconds behind the individual champion and turned in the top time time by a Division II runner at the event.

Led by Griggs, the Lions placed second overall as a team and finished as the top Division II school at the event.

Mars Hill's next meet will be this Saturday, Sept. 15 at Montreat.
