Men's Cross Country Finishes Fourth at Furman
Lions finish fourth at Furman Classic
GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Mars Hill men's cross country team scored a fourth place finish in the non-NCAA Division I portion of the Furman Classic on Saturday morning. Mars Hill finished with 126 points and was the top finishing South Atlantic Conference school at the meet. Lee University was the winner with 74 points.
Alex Griggs led Mars Hill with a sixth place finish, completing the 8-kilometer race in 25:31.62. Garrett Farrimond finished in 11th (26:04.20), with Nathan Jones earning a 17th place finish (26:10.24). Nick Resor finished in 43rd place (27:27.62) followed by Cesar Reyes in 49th (27:42.06). Daniel Lerner finished in 70th place (28:44.90) with Justin Sestan's 73th place finish (28:57.96) being the final scoring positon for the Lions.
Other finishers for Mars Hill include Noah Allison (29:04.53), Chase Shermer (29:15.49), Jonathan Spence (29:53.89), Nathan Wheeler (30:03.29) and Trey Heavener (31:00.67).
The Lions will take a week off before competing in the Wingate Invitational on September 26.
