Griggs Named AstroTurf SAC Runner of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. - Mars Hill senior Alex Griggs has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, the league announced this morning. This is Griggs' first weekly award of the 2015 season and the ninth time he has earned the honor in his career.

Griggs scored a sixth place finish during the Division II portion of the Furman Classic on Saturday as he finished the 8k course in 25:31.62. Mars Hill finished fourth at the meet and was the highest finishing SAC team with 126 points.

The Lions are off this weekend before returning to action on Saturday, September 26 at the Bulldog Stampede in Wingate, N.C.
