Griggs Earns AstroTurf SAC Runner of the Week Honors
Alex Griggs has been named Runner of the Week after setting a new 8k school record on Friday

ROCK HILL, S.C.- Mars Hill senior Alex Griggs has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, league officials announced on Wednesday. Griggs wins the award for the third time this season and the 11th time in his career.
Griggs set a new 8 kilometer school record at the Royals XC Challenge on Friday with a new time of 24:23.10, breaking the previous record of 24:41 held by Craig Eckstein. He finished in third place and was the highest finishing NCAA Division II runner at the meet.
Mars Hill returns to competition next Saturday at the SAC Championships.
