ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Mars Hill softball team has placed three members on the 2017 South Atlantic Conference All-Conference Team as announced by the league today. Sophomore third baseman Casey Stanek led the way with a first-team nod, while freshmen outfielder Cassidy Dahle and utility player Addison Harris found themselves on the honorable mention list.
Stanek provided the offense the majority of the season for the Blue and Gold after batting a team-high .377 with 24 RBIs, which also was tops on the squad. Her 52 hits and 14 doubles led the team and she was second on the club with a .580 slugging percentage and fourth with 19 runs scored. Her best game of the year came against Southern Wesleyan on February 25 as she tallied two doubles and three runs batted in to lead the Lions to a 9-3 win.
Dahle, in her rookie campaign, finished second on the team with a .365 batting average and was second in hits with 50, as well as third with 20 runs scored.
