Deal voted SAC Women's Basketball Player of Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. ­- Mars Hill College's Taylor Deal has been named the South Atlantic Conference women's basketball Player of the Week, the league announced today.

Deal averaged 17 points and seven rebounds per game in two wins over Assumption and Ashland as the Mars Hill women's basketball team captured the 2010 San Diego Surf 'N Slam Classic Championship. Deal was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament. She scored 26 points and had 11 rebounds in a win over Assumption. She followed that with eight points and three rebounds against Ashland. Her free throw with 1:19 left in the game helped seal the victory against Ashland.
