Ricker Named All-SAC Second Team

The South Atlantic Conference Women’s Basketball All-Conference teams were announced Wednesday, with Mars Hill junior Ansley Ricker earning a spot on the All-SAC Second Team.

ROCK HILL, S.C.- The South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball All-Conference teams were announced Wednesday, with Mars Hill junior Ansley Ricker earning a spot on the All-SAC Second Team. Ricker earns postseason All-SAC honors for the first time in her career.

This season, Ricker led the conference with an 88.7 free throw shooting percentage.  Ricker led the Lions with an average of 17.8 points per game, which was third-highest in the league, scoring 462 points in 26 games. On January 25 against Lenoir-Rhyne, Ricker scored 37 points, earning Player of the Week honors for her efforts.

Lenoir-Rhyne junior forward Jazmine Charles has been voted as the 2013-14 SAC Women's Basketball Player of the Year. Charles – who becomes the just second SAC Player of the Year in Lenoir-Rhyne history – finished the regular season ranked fourth in the conference in scoring at 17.5 points per game, third in free-throw shooting at 86.2-percent, sixth in three-pointers with 48, and 10th in rebounding at 6.6 per contest.

Charles is joined on the All-SAC First Team by Wingate forward Kayla Harris, Newberry forward Haylee Lepaio, Lincoln Memorial guard Aisjah Roan, Wingate forward Janitsha Williams and Lenoir-Rhyne guard Jenni Gust.
